Resume Format - Resume One Size Does Not Fit All

Many think that resumes are commonly considered to be something that must follow a precise cookie-cutter formula. In reality, your resume format is your golden ticket to an interview. 

Technical/IT Experience 
In a typical resume, the experience and the skills would be at the bottom section. If you work in a technical/IT experience, you need this section at the top of your resume page. Also, creating a mini version of this at the bottom will be good. So, in the end, the reader can get a feel of what kind of experience you have and how long you have it for.  

Skilled experience 
A typical resume format does not include a section for equipment or tools that you have experience with. You should create one at the top right.. Where appropriate, you can add a mini version at the bottom as well. 

Be aware of the instability 
Many sources on resume formats and job searches will tell you to put your resume in a “functional” form instead of the “chronological” format. This is not usually the best strategy because many companies require your resume to be in chronological order because it's the easiest for them to interpret.
Often a functional format is skipped altogether if it is difficult to read. Avoid long paragraphs and blocks of text. Have font sizes consistent throughout.

No work experience 
Just about everyone at one point or another had been frustrated about not getting an entry-level job due to a lack of experience. How can you get experience when no one is hiring because you have no experience? Here are some tips to help you with that

List relevant coursework
Don't afraid include any other jobs you had on the campus such as RA. Cafeteria cashier or a front desk receptionist. Create a volunteer experience section on your resume and include any relevant experiences, and any experiences where you can show significant accomplishment.     

Format your resume strategically
Your resume is a career marketing tool, not a catalog. Keep your resume concise and focused on your key selling points. Let go of past experiences that don't market you for your current goal.

You should also leave something to talk about in the interview. Always try to keep your resume short, direct, and to the point.  Use the language carefully and strategically. Order the category based on importance and name the categories, so it is easy for the reader to read.

Two different Job descriptions cannot have the same resume sent.
